The Indian omelet is called so since it has various Indian spices and vegetables added to it. An Indian omelet is a version of the omelet found in Indian cuisine. Its main ingredients are eggs, herbs, tomatoes and spices that vary by region. This recipe makes 2 servings.
Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Finely chopped coriander leaves, to taste
- Finely chopped hot Green chillies, to taste
- Enough oil to thinly coat the frying pan.
Method:
- In a small bowl, whip the eggs lightly. Add in all the other ingredients in the bowl and mix properly.
- Set the frying pan on stove, smear its surface with a thin coat of oil.
- Pour the contents of the bowl (Eggs, vegetables and spices) onto the frying pan.
- Cook until it becomes lightly brown on one side.
- Turn over and cook until it becomes lightly brown other side too.
Serving:
Serve with chapati or bread.
